Dear Clarkston Bible Institute (CBI) Alumni, Staff, Faculty, Donors, and Supporters,

On this Giving Tuesday, we invite you to partner with the Clarkston Bible Institute (CBI) as we extend our global mission to a place of urgent need and unprecedented opportunity: Burma (Myanmar).

CBI was formed in the unique and diverse context of Clarkston, Georgia, often called the “Ellis Island of the south.” We operate with the mission to equip and multiply spiritual leaders, recognizing that the harvest is plentiful but more trained spiritual leaders are desperately needed. Estimates suggest that globally only 5% of Pastors have any academic theological training.

A Critical Partnership for the Unreached

We are thrilled to announce a vital partnership with the Elim Institute in Yangon, Myanmar, to restart their missionary training school in 2026. (The school has been closed since COVID-19). This collaboration is crucial for spreading the Gospel to the most unreached people in Myanmar and beyond. Myanmar is a nation facing unrest, hunger, and economic collapse. The unreached population in Burma is estimated to be about 45 million, representing 83.1% of the total population, with the Burmese being the largest unreached people group.

The Elim Institute’s purpose is to train and equip disciple makers, focusing on cross-cultural mission work, practical evangelism, and new church planting. Given that roughly two-thirds of CBI’s graduates are Burmese, this partnership allows us to leverage our existing connections and expertise.

Our Giving Tuesday Goal: $40,000 to Launch a New Initiative

This Giving Tuesday, CBI is seeking to raise $40,000 to launch this critical training initiative. This funding will ensure the successful start of the residential program at the Elim Institute.

Specifically, your donation will help us:

  1. Support Tuition for 20 Students: The Elim Institute plans to accept at least 20 students in the first year. These students will commit to doing missions and will come from the mission fields already served by Elim institute.
  2. Provide Essential Support Funds: Running the residential program requires essential resources, including:
  3. Technology & Infrastructure: We need to provide the best quality internet for streaming. Through this partnership, the students will be utilizing CBI’s robust curriculum, which includes Bible Study Methods, Old Testament and New Testament Surveys, Bible Doctrine Survey, and Missions, Evangelism & Discipleship as well
as other practical courses. CBI instructors will teach online via Zoom and Google Classroom, where classes are projected onto a big screen and translated by local staff.
    • Start-Up Costs: Funds will also support infrastructure needs like simultaneous translation software for the Burmese Language.

Training Faithful Leaders

This strategey is focused on equipping and multiplying spiritual leaders who will be able to teach others also (2 TIM 2:2 ESV). The training uses CBI’s comprehensive curriculum, focusing on providing practical ministry experience alongside the theological foundation. Students will learn key skills like Bible Study Methods, which trains the students in a lifetime skill of observation, interpretation, and application.

By contributing today, you are joining CBI in our mission to Engage, Equip, and Entrust the next generation of spiritual leaders.

Please make your donation today and help us reach our $40,000 goal to launch this crucial ministry in Burma.
